A converted barn in an enticing country village outside Stockbridge near Winchester is home to this transformed Utility Room.
The brief was to create as much storage space as possible, hence floor to ceiling cabinetry. The inclusion of Washing machine,
Dryer, Tall Wine Cooler & American style fridge freezer was required. It was intimated that straight cabinet runs were wanted to keep it simple. Therefore I produced a plan number one accordingly, then said ‘I can do better than this’ by angling the tall cabinets in the corners. The client said to me ‘well do it’. The result, large angled Larder storage was created one end, at the other angled storage for all the cleaning apparatus including Mops, Brooms, Ironing board & vacuum cleaner etc. These cabinets made a huge difference because the 45 degree angles do away with inaccessible space. You will notice the radiator, I was asked to keep it in its original position.
